The Annenberg Space for Photography 13.11.2020

"I’m writing to share some news borne out of the pandemic that has upended public institutions across the world. After closing its doors to the public in March, the Annenberg Space for Photography will not be re-opening. It’s been a joy and a privilege to share my favorite art form with the Los Angeles community for these ten wonderful years. Because a great photograph does so much more than capture what’s in front of us. It captures what’s deep inside us the trials and the triumphs the naked eye rarely sees. That’s why the Photo Space has been so meaningful to me." Read more about the closing of this chapter from Wallis Annenberg: https://bit.ly/2BMARpa.

We stand with the photographers, cultural institutions, and nonprofits committed to equality, justice, and lifting up the voices of the unheard. During this painful week that has focused our city and country on racial equity and justice, the suffering of our fellow citizens should be recognized and never forgotten. Our Annenberg Trustees and staff renew our 30-year commitment to support organizations that fight tirelessly for justice and equality, and work to address systemic and structural inequality. Today we begin an ongoing call to action by highlighting our nonprofit partners that focus on reform, justice, and equity. Please join us in solidarity and support for these leaders and the crucial work they do in our communities. We must all work together to create lasting change. The Annenberg Foundation
