We enjoyed our partnership with three other local Rotary Clubs, City Trees, and the Redwood City School District to plant 30 native oak trees at Clifford Elementary School. DG Mary Bates helped plant the trees too!
Each Christmas, the Woodside Fire Department collects toys and books as gifts for children in need in San Mateo County. Many of these kids might not otherwise receive gifts for Christmas, and this is a great program that spreads a little joy in the world. Our Club members really love supporting this program with books and toys, and this year was no different, in spite of the quarantine. We couldn't get together for our annual gathering with Woodside Fire, but our President Dan Ghiorso (himself the former Fire Chief!) did the honors and delivered the gifts for us. THANK YOU to Woodside Fire for running this fantastic toy drive year after year and making a difference to families. Merry Christmas!!

Congratulations to our club member Adane for being District 5150 Rotarian of the Month! Adane is an inspiration to all of us in the WPV Club with his optimism, energy, and indefatigable spirit for Service Above Self, and we‘re so honored to have him as a fellow member. Bravo Adane!

Our speaker on Feb 19th was Terri Ducay from the American Wild Horse Campaign (AWHC), who gave a passionate presentation on the work of her organization. AWHC is working to keep wild horses and burros free and wild on western public lands, through litigation, advocacy, and legislation. We had no idea of the challenges that the wild mustangs are facing today. As a horse-loving community, we really appreciated Terri's presentation.
