When Women Pray

St. John Bosco was born in 1815 in Italy. His father died at an early age which contributed to the necessity for him to work hard from a young age and prevented him from pursuing a formal education. He was ordained a priest in 1841 and founded the Salesian community. Perhaps because of the difficulties with his own education, he devoted his life to creating educational opportunities and institutions for disadvantaged children, helping to ensure all children had access to a good education.

With his prolific writings on faith and reason, our Saint of the Day, St. Thomas Aquinas was one of the most influential medieval thinkers of his time and was declared a Doctor of the Church.
