Essentially Us Meet Kim. She has been with Vittorio’s for 2 years and we couldn’t be happier! She is originally from Eastern Oregon and has been in LA for 25 years.... She LOVES to swim and swam the length Golden Gate Bridge twice! She has raced cars in Italy and her favorite places to visit are Italy and Switzerland. Her favorite dish is the Pasta Arrabiata. Essentially Us - Spotlighting extraordinary individuals in unprecedented times Last week, I read an alert on my phone that said this: In a recent report, "Yelp says 60 percent of the 26,160 temporarily closed restaurants listed on their review site as of this month are now permanently closed. It further reports that temporary closures are declining while permanent shutdowns are increasing". ... For those who have worked in a restaurant, been part of a family that owns a restaurant, or at the very least, eaten at a restaurant, you know how hard these people work; Late nights, weekends and holidays. No rest for the weary. This brings me to Essentially Us. A look at those individuals who, during this pandemic, have sacrificed their health, and the health of their family and friends, all in the name of being essential. Most don’t have a choice. Putting food on the table and making sure their family pays the rent is their number 2 priority to the number 1 of staying healthy. I wanted to spotlight these selfless humans who we call family and to highlight them as the invisible heroes they are to everyone they serve everyday. We are forever blessed and grateful to our community in the Palisades that have brought us into their homes, their hearts and their stomachs. For this, we Thank You. This is Mario. He has been working at Vittorio’s for 35 years. (We’ve been open for 36 years) He has 5 kids & 6 grandchildren. On his one day off, he plays soccer and each week, one of kids takes the entire family to dinner so Dad doesn’t have to cook. He has been married for 30 years. His favorite foods are mariscos and pupusas (Salvadorian specials) If you love our dishes like the Linguine Pescatore or the Chicken Marsala or our famous Fettuccine Alfredo...you can thank this wonderful chef. Due to the Governor’s statement today, we are closed for the next 3 weeks for in house dining. WE WILL BE OPEN TODAY FOR IN-HOUSE DINING AT 5PM! We are taking every measure to keep you safe while you are in our restaurant. Please remember to be kind and respectful to our employees in return. This is a new way of doing business for us, and we are open to any suggestions that will make you more comfortable. The county of LA has reopened restaurants for in-house dining today. This will be a soft opening as we gear up to open our entire dining room. Per the guidelines... and rules, we are allowed a 60% capacity that puts us at 50 patrons at any given time. We strongly encourage reservations. We also will limit tables to 5 people. Please bring your masks, as you will be asked to wear them until your food arrives at the table, and if you use the restroom. We are grateful for all of your support these last couple months and can’t wait to see you again!
