Harvard Business School trains doctoral students to conduct innovative research within a broad range of academic fields, including: Accounting and Management; Business Economics; Health Policy Management; Marketing; Organizational Behavior; Strategy; and Technology and Operations Management. These are all intensive research programs aimed at placing graduates in an institution of higher learning as an Assistant Professor; the vast majority of HBS graduates place at top tier b...usiness schools. Successful students come from a variety of academic backgrounds including computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics, psychology, sociology, and statistics, among many others. HBS seeks applicants with a pattern of strong academic performance, creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and self-management skills who are passionate about learning and will be able to produce innovative research. Learn more about HBS students by reviewing their publications and profiles. Selected profiles are linked below. HBS proudly offers full funding for all incoming students; regardless of financial need or national origin. In fact, each admitted student is automatically awarded a fellowship which includes tuition, single-person health fees, and a living stipend ($43,000 for 2019-2020) for up to 5 years of study. Students are not required to serve as research or teaching assistants in order to receive the stipend. Thank you for your time and consideration of our program for your doctoral studies. We encourage you to explore the website and contact us directly with questions about the details of our doctoral programs, the admissions process, and careers in business academia. Dear Students, I am the Director for Inclusion and Recruitment for Graduate Programs in Bioscience at UCLA and I am pleased to invite you to visit our SACNAS (#1607) and ABRCMS (#301) booths this fall. I would love to have the opportunity to meet you and describe the incredible research going on at UCLA and how we support both graduate students and undergraduates looking for summer research opportunities. ... Many of our students participated in programs such as MARC, IMSD, McNair, and LSAMP as undergraduates. Check out our most recent newsletter to meet some of these students and hear their stories and views about UCLA. Graduate Programs in Bioscience is an umbrella program that brings together more than 400 faculty from 29 departments across the College Life Sciences and Physical Sciences and Schools of Medicine, Engineering, and Dentistry. We are organized into research training programs called Home Areas. They stem from UCLA’s areas of research excellence rather than traditional departmental divisions. This structure provides specialized, in-depth educational programs while maintaining flexibility for students to explore frontiers beyond any single Home Area. As a former MARC and LSAMP trainee, I know first-hand the incredible talent that undergraduate trainees can harness when they have access to resources, effective mentoring and a sense of community. My colleagues and I are committed to ensuring that our bioscience graduate programs offer these support systems so all students thrive in their quest for a career in science. I hope you enjoy reading the newsletter and will reach out or visit me at our booth to learn more about our graduate and undergraduate programs. Warmly, Dr. Diana Azurdia _________________________________ Diana Azurdia, Ph.D. Director for Recruitment and Inclusion Graduate Programs in Bioscience, UCLA Board of Directors, Society for the Advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in Science Advisor, SACNAS Chapter at UCLA Pronouns: she/her/hers

Dear McNair Program Directors, The English Department at Northern Michigan University is actively seeking high-achieving students for its MA program. We currently offer three MA concentrations--literature, pedagogy, and writing--as well as a TESOL certificate. Regardless of concentration, our program is really flexible, allowing students to take a variety of courses while they're here. Some of our recent offerings have included Environmental Literature, TV and Script Writing,... Teaching Literature, Disabled Shakespeare, the Harlem Renaissance, Nature Writing, and Major Authors: Toni Morrison. Our faculty are active scholars and writers with expertise in a wide variety of areas, including almost all periods of American and British literature, African American literature, Native American literature, and world literature, as well as rhetoric and composition, English education, linguistics, and all genres of creative writing. We pride ourselves on working closely with graduate students and supporting their unique academic and professional goals. Right now, we are developing new courses in environmental writing and ecocriticism--including some with field experiences--and especially encourage students interested in these areas to apply. Located on the shores of Lake Superior, surrounded by forests, and home to some of the best cross-country skiing in the world, NMU also boasts an extraordinarily beautiful setting. MA students are eligible for teaching assistantships, which provide tuition remission and an annual stipend. Additional funding for conference travel and summer research is also available; most of our students receive at least one research or travel grant while they're here. Above all, the MA in English at NMU allows students to continue to explore language and literature alongside really accomplished faculty and peers. We'd love for more McNair graduates to join us! The deadline for applications is February 1, 2020. More information can be found on our website: www.nmu.edu/english/ma. Prospective students should also feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your time and for passing this information along to your students! Hello, My name is Megan Braverman and I work in the MBA Admissions Office at Harvard Business School (HBS). I am writing to tell you about an upcoming information session we will be hosting at the University of California, Berkeley campus. HBS offers three programs for college students that could be of interest to you including two preview experiences (Peek Weekend and the Summer Venture in Management Program) as well as the 2+2 deferred admissions process for college seniors... who are ready to apply to an MBA program. We will be visiting UC Berkeley on Monday, December 9, 2019, to hold an information session about the MBA and these educational programs at Harvard Business School. This event will take place from 6:00-7:00pm in the UC Berkeley Career Center, Gold Room. I have included a flyer that could be passed along to members of your institution. We would love to highlight the ways an HBS MBA can enhance your future careers and hope you will attend the information session. While this presentation does focus on upperclassmen it is very informative to those interested in an MBA and we encourage all to attend! Thanks again, and please let me know if you have any questions.
