Have you lost income since March 2020 due to arts venues and/or other creative business closures? Californians for the Arts is looking for feedback from educators, artists, and creative workers in all mediums to complete a survey that will help the nonprofit organization communicate to the State the financial and human impact on the entire arts industry and what is needed to rebuild since the pandemic shutdown. Thank you! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CFTACovidIndividuals

We had a dedicated team of volunteers today helping our Resident Costume Designer, Derik Shopinski, as we started the daunting task of replacing our stage curtains. Normally, we wouldn’t be able to take on such a project in November, but hey, 2020! Special thanks to Michele Davis Granata, Kat Anderson, and Virginia Sulick for giving up part of their weekend to help us get the ball rolling! We will keep you posted on their progress!!

Congratulations to Palm Canyon Theatre's Desert Star Award Winners for 2019-2020, presented by the Desert Theatre League. We garnered 52 Nominations, and received 11 Trophies. Not included in that count is Ava Tethal, recipient of one of the DTL's $1000 Scholarship. Huge congratulations to PCT's winners, as well as all of the other winners in the Valley. It was a short season, but lots of great work was presented. Let's hope we all get back to creating theatre magic soon! All Photos courtesy of Paul Hayashi Photography

Another huge congratulations to Ava Tethal for winning one of the $1000 Scholarships awarded by the Desert Theatre League this year. Ava Tethal is a 13 year old 7th Grade honor student at St. Theresa Catholic School in Palm Springs. She comes from a performing arts family. Both of her Grandparents, Dr. Bill and Sylvia Layne, were long time educators at Moorehead State University in Kentucky; her Uncle J.W. has his Master’s Degree in both Technical Theatre and Acting from M...innesota State University, and her Mother, Se has her Master’s Degree in Classical Theatre and Voice from Michigan State University. So, acting and performing are in her blood! Ava has received DTL Nominations for her roles in Les Miserables, The Secret Garden, and The Bad Seed. Last year she was awarded the prestigious BILL GROVES AWARD for OUTSTANDING JUVENILE for her role in The Diary of Anne Frank, winning alongside both her Grandfather and Mother; a first in DTL History to have 3 generations of winners from the same family in one evening. She is honored to have been selected as a recipient the DTL Scholarship this year.
