We have one employee who has tested positive for COVID-19. The last time this employee was at Sundara was on June 26th, and they began experiencing symptoms after that, so we instructed them not to return to work until they were tested. Their positive test result came back July 14th, at which point we closed the restaurant and contacted the San Diego County Health Department. The health department advised us that due to the length of time the employee was away without any con...tact with other staff, none of whom have developed symptoms, that we could choose to remain open, but we have decided to close until we have all of our employees tested. We would rather err on the side of caution in order to protect our staff and community. As you are probably aware, there are currently long delays in receiving test results so we don’t know exactly when we will reopen, but we expect to be closed for several days. In the meantime, we will also have the entire restaurant professionally sanitized. We’re sincerely grateful for how many of you have continued to order takeout and delivery during the pandemic, and for all the kind words of encouragement you have given us as we try to navigate these strange times. We will let you know as soon as we reopen, and we hope to see you all again soon!

Quaternary tablets are on the EPA list of approved sanitizers for killing coronavirus. Please allow sanitizer to sit for one minute or simply allow it to air dry. This is an industrial sanitizer that restaurants have been using for decades. Food-safe, so in addition to surfaces can also be used to sanitize plates/glasses/utensils.

Sundara is now only open for Takeout and Delivery. Following State and Federal guidelines to restrict the spread of COVID-19, we are currently not offering dine-in service. We appreciate your understanding and support, and we encourage you to order takeout or delivery through our website: SundaraCuisine.com We do all of our own deliveries, so you can avoid the high fees of third-party apps. If you prepay online we can bring takeout orders to your car in the parking lot, or drop off deliveries at your front door (just please specify this preference in the order notes). We have always been committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety and this commitment will continue now. We hope that enjoying Sundara's food at home will help you get through these unusual times.
