Hey friends! We are sad to say that we will have to cancel Speak Out! Sacramento this week, but we strongly believe in doing our part in keeping our creative family safe and healthy and protecting the most vulnerable members of our community. Let's all be responsible in practicing social distancing, to the best of our ability, by avoiding large social gatherings that might put our friends and family at risk. Obviously, we believe that community is essential to healing, so let...'s challenge ourselves to find creative ways to nurture one another and stay connected during these stressful times. Skype and Zoom open mics?? Virtual poetry sharing platforms?? Posting videos of your 5 minute set online?? We're here for it all. In the mean time, let's give each other some S P A C E so our community can heal and stay safe. We love you and can't wait to see the magic that you all make when we come back to the stage! See more

Hey Speak Out, fam! Thank you all for joining us at our first show in a new spot last month and another major shoutout to our generous hosts at @acommunityforpeace! In order to make sure you all have the sweet quality of open mic you deserve, we’re going to take OFF the month of October so the Speak Out Crew can incorporate feedback from our surveys and set us up for a kick ass show on November 6th! We know it can be sad to take a break, but this gives us all time to come up with some *NEW SHIT* to perform, right??
