"The incoming Biden administration is facing growing pressure to appoint a rural envoy within the White House to oversee a national strategy to uplift rural communities facing severe health and economic challenges. Members of Congress and advocates are making the case that the problems plaguing rural regions exacerbated by the pandemic run so deep that a coordinated federal response is critical a move they argue would speed up the nation’s economic recovery and boost Biden’s popularity among voters in red states. The envoy would work closely with the executive branch, especially the Department of Agriculture, which has offices in nearly every county in the U.S." Read full story at link:

The Suisun Valley Filling Station is celebrating our two year anniversary! Because it is our second anniversary, we want to double the fun and double the cele...bration. Since we have to postpone our annual party with the mighty Terry Sheets Band and cannot celebrate in person, we are bringing the party home to you! The Filling Station will be selling TWO anniversary packs, of which 50% of profits from both packs will be going to the Solano Community Animal Response Team (Solano CART). The two anniversary packs are the Day Drinker Pack and the VIP Happy Hour Pack. Both anniversary packs will feature one red and one white wine which you can choose from a prepared anniversary list. Both packs will also feature one 6 Foot MOFO Tank Top or Crew neck T-shirt (white or black). Our Day Drinker Pack will have the two wines and the shirt, while our VIP Happy Hour Pack will get you two bottles of wine, one shirt, two Filling Station Stemless Wine Glasses AND one VIP pass for our two and a half year anniversary party, which we are planning to have in Spring of 2021. Both Anniversary packs will get you two great bottles of wine, a shirt, and give back to the community! We can’t THANK YOU, our beloved community enough for embracing us for the last two years, through the good, the bad, and the crazy! We look forward to giving back to these first responders that have been on the front lines saving our community’s animals in the wake of the fires over the last few years. We look forward to giving back to the community and doing our big, blowout party later next year! If you are looking for more ways to give back to Solano County, be sure to check out Solano CART. CART is always looking for volunteers or donations, their website is below. solanocart.org Be sure to grab an anniversary pack and come by and see us soon! The Filling Station hours are Wednesdays and Thursdays 1PM 7PM, Fridays and Saturdays 1PM 8PM, and Sundays 1PM 6PM. VOTE NO ON PROP 15! For agriculture, Prop. 15 would trigger reassessments at market value for agriculture-related facilities and improvements. Though proponents say Prop. 15 makes no changes to the taxation of agricultural land, our farming community is impacted because fixtures and improvements are subject to the tax hikes under the initiative. What falls within the definition of fixtures and improvements? Dairies, barns, packinghouses, food processing facilities, build...ings, structures and wineries would be all reassessed at current market value. Agricultural improvements such as fruit and nut bearing trees and producing vineyards are included, as well. https://youtu.be/bAFJB2IrPoU See more
