Happy veterinary technician week! There is only one week a year we get to celebrate our wonderful vet techs! Honestly they deserve praise daily! Not many people realize the details of the job of a vet nurse. The day starts early and fast, lucky to catch a sip of coffee, animals are in need, those recovering from surgery or illness and those arriving on the front steps all in need of support. They lift animals unable to stand and carry those that are unable to walk regardle...ss of size, they lay in the floor in uncomfortable positions to trim nails to make sure the animal does not feel it and they rarely get recognition. Between surgeries, appointments, filling prescriptions and phone calls, even a bathroom break can be difficult to fit in at times, through the day they are often sprayed with a variety of doggy bodily fluids and don’t forget that layer of kitty fur! The days are long, the lunch breaks are rare, but I am sure every vet tech will tell you, they have the most amazing job! They get to provide, love and support to animals when their families can’t be with them, they cuddle animals that are ill or recovering from surgery in cages or on the floor, they sit and calm animals that arrive nervous, they administer medical treatments gently as if the animal was their own. They do all this without a second thought. The day often rolls into the night with many up late worried about their patients. The next time you see a vet tech, tell them how awesome they are and give them a hug, they are essential workers even when times are tough and the heart and backbone of every veterinary hospital! Thank you Cassie Conforti, Brittany Ann Gale, Rhiannon, Kylie, Tegan, Valerie Silva, Jessica Ronzheimer, Andrew and Helena Ramirez for all that you do! See more

We want to take a moment to wish our Dr. Beverly Hill a happy retirement! After many many faithful years, she is finally taking the time to rest and to enjoy her life with her husband, 2 adult children, and her own furry companions. We commend her for her mentorship of the newer doctors and techs, resilience in the midst of many challenges (especially recently), and her faithfulness to practicing the best medicine. We will all miss her dearly and will definitely be asking her to come back for relief work in the future (if she’s not too busy enjoying her newfound freedom ). Thank you for everything, Dr. Hill! You are so loved!

Happy National Dog Day!!!! We hope all our doggy patients are safe during this time! While we are evacuated we miss all our doggy patients dearly, share a photo of your beloved dog, we would love to see those smiles!

Scotts Valley Vet Clinic 10.07.2020

Dear valued clients, we hope you all are staying safe. Due to the air quality and evacuations, we will need to continue to keep the clinic closed all this next week. We hope to be back to serving you the following week, but will keep you updated via social media and email if anything changes. If anyone needs prescription refills, we will be monitoring VetSource (our online pharmacy) and will approve all requests if possible. You can also send prescription requests to our email [email protected], as we will be checking it regularly. Clients can check the PetDesk app for their pet’s current vaccines or exams as needed for boarding. We are thinking of and praying for all of our clients and patients during this difficult time. We love you all!

PSA: Due to the evacuations amidst the devastating fires in our beautiful county, we are closed through the weekend We are hoping to be open on Monday, but give us a call Monday morning to be sure we are there if you need anything. Contact the Santa Cruz SPCA or the Santa Cruz shelter if you need help with evacuating your pets. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by these fires, and we hope to be able to serve you soon. Stay safe
