This study found that 46% of girls surveyed did not pursue STEM-related jobs later in life is because they did not have the mentorship as a young student. #mentorshipmatters Project Scientist Scholars - a virtual STEM Mentoring and Leadership development program is addressing this exact need! Girls ages 13-15 are invited to apply to the Scholars Program for an opportunity to be mentored by accomplished professionals from leading STEM companies and organizations. Scholars will be paired with mentors who will help develop and guide them through virtual interactions, resources, and college-preparedness projects. Apply at https://projectscientist.org/scholars. The application deadline is June 13, 2021.

#Mentorship has been well-established in the literature as fostering scientific identity and career pathways for underrepresented minority students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields. #ProjectScientistScholars is a new Virtual STEM Mentoring and Leadership development program designed to engage and empower girls ages 13-15 who have an interest in a STEM-focused education and career. In its pilot year, the Project Scientist Scholars Program is funded on a donation basis, thanks to partners like Trane Technologies. Applicants are encouraged to apply before the June 13, 2021 deadline. Visit the Scholars page to get started! https://projectscientist.org/scholars
