Softball is officially under way!!!!! Some great games today!!! Parents, remember to make sure your players bring water to the field so they can stay hydrated. It's going to be getting warm out there.

Great showing at todays tryouts!!!! Thank you to all those that came out to help. By looking at the talent on the field. ..this season is going to be a good one. This new juniors division is going to be fun and exciting to watch!!!! If you missed today's tryout, there is still one more next Saturday at 9 AM.

Softball tryouts tomorrow starting at 9 AM at Melba Bishop Park. All girls age 9 and up must try out!! See you all there!!!

Don't forget about softball tryouts this weekend!! The following is from the OVLL Website: All Softball players league-age 9 through 14 (players age as of December 31, 2014): Saturday January 31, 2015... Melba Bishop Park Field 3 in front of 1st base dugout From 9:00 am until 12:30 pm If you have a child that is 8 years old and feel they could be moved up to the next level please feel free to bring them so they can tryout as well. These tryouts will be on a first come first served basis and you may experience a wait time before your player's name is called. We will be giving out time slots and player numbers when you come to sign in. Groups of 5-7 players will be taken out onto the field in intervals of 15 minutes. Please stay close to avoid not being able to hear your player's name called. Please have your player warmed up before arriving at the field to avoid any injuries. If you have any question please ask.

WOOOOW!!! What a great turnout at todays softball clinic!!!! I don't now about you guys...but I am ready for this softball season to begin!!! Just a couple of things and then I'll be quiet. Don't forget about your raffle tickets!!! Get out there and sell those before it's too late. Get an early jump on those so you're not sittin' on those when opening day arrives. DON'T FORGET ABOUT TRYOUTS NEXT WEEKEND, JANUARY 31st FROM 9 AM TO NOON!!! All girls age 9 and up will need... to attend!!! For all you golfer out there...February 22nd will be the second annual OVLL Golf Tournament at Emerald Isle. Last years tournament was a blast and we hope to get more out this year. Last, but definitely not least, I want to give a special shout out to Coach Eddie Gomez for being instrumental in expanding the softball program at OVLL. Coach Eddie puts in countless hours to make sure your girls are getting what they need. His selflessness, dedication and pure love of the game, family and friends should not go unnoticed. Tomorrow is the last official registration day!!! OVLL members will be there taking your registration papers from 9 AM until Noon. Any registration after tomorrow (January 24th) will be considered late and the $75 raffle ticket fee will become mandatory. Last year the league signed up 415 kids. We are now at 400. Let's see if we can beat that. Tell a friend!!!

Don't forget to bring those girls out this Saturday to Melba Bishop Park!!!!! More softball skills work will be going on!!! Last week we had about 45 girls of all ages out there. Just by looking at some of the talent, it's going to be a great softball season. Also encourage your friends to come out, sign up and play!!! We are still in need of young ladies to sign up.
