Jane Sandoval is a registered nurse with over 36 years of bedside experience, including as an emergency room RN. She is a Vice President of National Nurses United, the largest union and professional association of registered nurses in the United States. Jane has volunteered with the Registered Nurse Response Network in t...he Philippines to provide disaster relief after Typhoon Haiyan. She has a certificate in Women’s Global Health Leadership from Rutgers University. Jane is a second-generation Filipina-American. John Avalos is a long-time community and labor organizer, a former Supervisor of the City and County of San Francisco, and the current Assistant Director of Political and Community Organizing with the National Union of Healthcare Workers. He is also the labor representative at Seton Medical Center in Daly City, California, the workplace of hundreds of Filipino healthcare workers fighting on the front lines of the pandemic. Joe Iosbaker has been working at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) for 32 years. He has been a labor organizer for SEIU Local 73 for over 30 years. Several times, Local 73 and the Illinois Nurses Association (INA) came close to striking, but it wasn't until the crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic that sparked the anger of both the unions and thus waged the #StrikeForOurLives in 2020.
