Fabulous New Youth Bike for Sale The Moorpark Women’s Fortnightly Club (MWFC) had to cancel their 2020 spring fundraising luncheon, due to COVID, leaving us with a fabulous new Youth T-Rex 7, 24 inch, 7 speed red bike by KHS Bicycles that we had planned to auction off. The bike, which retails at about $330, is great for street or dirt riding and best for ages 8 and up. Bids will start at $300 and we will accept the best offer submitted before Sunday, December 13 at 5pm. Please private message Teri Glazier with your bid. This bike will be the perfect holiday gift for one lucky child and proceeds will go the the MWFC, which supports Moorpark schools and many non-profit organizations within our community.

Thanks to the generosity of club member Cheryl Cosimati, there are going to some warm and toasty shelter animals this winter! Our Operation Blankets of Love chairman Debi Vitale, here with Buddy, the seriously luckiest dog around, will deliver the blankets to this wonderful organization, which collects items needed by our animal shelters.

Trick or Treat for UNICEF!! Sue Clouse will be accepting donations for UNICEF through Saturday. Members can call or text Sue to let her know you'll be stopping by with a donation. And you don't have to wear a costume to do this trick-or-treating, although Sue would probably get a kick out of it if you did! #trickortreatforunicef

MWFC Wild Roses just finished the 24 hr Relay for Life event. Our 19 member team raised $5,000 and participated in all 24 hours of virtual theme laps and games. Some of us even met for an actual lap at Arroyo Vista Park and then surprised team member, Gloria, with a visit. Thank you to our awesome team leader, Suzy Lesiak, for leading us through a very different, but fun Relay!

Girls' Night Out Zentangle Class was a big success! Everyone had a great time and the end results were beautiful. Even those that self-professed to not having an artistic bone in their body, created beautiful designs and had fun! Thanks to Pam Jankowski who enlisted her Wisconsin friend and Zentangle instructor, Joyce Block, to teach the class. I think several members have a new obsession!

This is the picture that’s supposed to go with my post about the amazing girls of our club who donated so much time and energy to making blankets for My Stuff Bags. This is what Girl Power looks like!!!

Moorpark Women's Fortnightly Club 22.08.2020

Can I just say our girls are amazing?!! We had about 20 members who donated their time and energy to making more than 90 blankets for My Stuff Bags, a non-profit that provides backpacks for children in distress. We are not letting a global pandemic get in the way of doing good for our community!
