Hi If you’re new to my page, welcome! If you’re not I love and appreciate you very much. In case you’re wondering what in the heck I do, I am a movement and exercise therapy specialist and personal trainer that does injury rehabilitation with a focus on neurology. My view of the human body is largely influenced by @zhealth_performance, my experience working in chiropractic offices, physical therapy offices, being a retired professional dancer, self education, intui...tion and good ol’ trial and error. I’m really goofy and like to make complex topics very simple. For example: Your brain is like broccoli. It has a stem, and it has a poof. Go ahead and picture that The Stem is where really important things you do, that you don’t know you’re doing, happen, like your body temperature, heart beating, breathing, blinking and swallowing. You don’t want a problem with any of those. Nope. Your brain stem is very illogical and emotional. It is called The Old Lizard Brain. It’s like I’m hungry NOW! Food. Mouth. Immediately. Your poof is called the cortex or cerebrum (cerebral cortex). This is called your New Brain. It is very sophisticated. This is where you know multiple languages, your professional skills are located, how you can think before your speak. This is where judgement, decision making, executive function, memory, awareness and thought occur. ’ , ’ . That’s pretty much it. Ooooh la la! Movement of all sorts helps provide better signaling and flow through the old brain, into the new brain. Therefore creating better decision making and behavior. It’s pretty important More of our brain’s real estate and design are dedicated to than to language. Everything matters and everything affects everything. Not ready to squat? Try integrating this very gently for a while and let the pattern gradually develop into your body. Facing down and being horizontal may... help you and your brain feel safer in a squat position. Bonus? It feels incredible! This is sped up 2X to fit the 1 minute mark so please go SLOW and it should take 2-4 minutes total. 10 reps of each position.
