The Pantry needs your help! We rescue eggs from 15 grocery stores. Sadly some eggs don’t make it, resulting in messy egg cartons. Volunteers check and repackage eggs to ensure broken eggs or messy cartons are not distributed. However, the Pantry is currently running low on clean and empty egg cartons! If you have clean, sturdy, empty egg cartons, please consider donating them to the Pantry. You can easily drop them off at the Pantry anytime Monday - Friday between 8 - 10:30 am. Please share this with anyone who might have extra egg cartons. Thank you!

You can help support the Laguna Food Pantry through AmazonSmile online or on the Amazon mobile app - at no extra cost to you! Regardless of how you shop Amazon, either through your web browser or on your phone, Amazon donates! Go to https://smile.amazon.com/ch/33-0593551 to make the Laguna Food Pantry your AmazonSmile charity recipient. Each month 450,000 people are at risk of going hungry in Orange County. Most of the hungry are the working poor who are trying their best to... provide food for their families, or seniors on fixed incomes who simply cannot make ends meet. Many more are impacted by COVID-related unemployment which forces them to make hard choices between buying food and paying the rent or buying medicine. Every little bit counts. $2 provides 50 lbs of groceries for a family of four, and $104 provides groceries for a family of four for a year. We believe #NoOneGoesHungry

Eat Right Nutrition created National Nutrition Month to bring awareness to the importance of making informed food choices and developing healthy eating and physical activity habits. This year’s National Nutrition Month theme is Personalize Your Plate. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition and health. We are all unique with different bodies, goals, backgrounds and tastes! Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County has reported that each month more than 450,000 pe...ople are at risk of going hungry in Orange County each month. Most of the hungry are the working poor who are trying their best to provide food for their families, or seniors on fixed incomes who simply cannot make ends meet. Many more are impacted by COVID-related unemployment which forces them to make hard choices between buying food and paying the rent or buying medicine. The Pantry’s mission is to make sure that anyone who is food insecure has access to fresh and nutritious groceries. The ability to access nutritional food for healthy eating habits is something every one should have. The Pantry does not require proof of need and all shoppers receive at least $100 worth of groceries. If you are interested in helping the Pantry’s mission please visit our website, www.lagunafoodpantry.org, to make a secure donation. $104 provides a family of four groceries for a year. #NoOneGoesHungry

Majority of the Pantry’s shoppers are women and over 40% of household members receiving groceries are infants and children. Knowing this, Kathleen, a driver for the Pantry, and her Women Who Walk Laguna Beach group organized a feminine hygiene product and diaper drive to donate to the Pantry. While supplies last and in addition to your groceries, please let the Greeter know if you need either feminine hygiene products or diapers.

In 2020, the Pantry received approximately 1.5M lbs of donated groceries. This 132% increase from 2019 helped the Pantry provide a minimum of $100 worth of groceries to each family. Thank you to all who donated and our partners at Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, Federal Food, TraderJoe's, Pavilions, Gelson's Markets, Ralphs, Albertsons, Walmart, ALDI USA for helping the Pantry to ensure #NoOneGoesHungry

"My favorite parts [about volunteering at Laguna Food Pantry] are the people and seeing our work in action! I enjoy working with a group of like-minded individuals who are not only fun, but also dedicated to helping our neighbors. From the volunteers to the Board, it's amazing to see everyone's hands-on commitment to the Pantry and its customers." - Elizabeth, Wednesday loader. The Pantry has jackfruit! Young jackfruit can be eaten as a healthy meat replacement because of its neutral flavor and similar consistency to chicken or pork. Ripe jackfruit is sweeter and can be enjoyed as a dessert. Comment below and share your favorite jackfruit recipe! #NoOneGoesHungry
