February is American Heart Month This is the perfect time to learn about your risk for heart disease. The need for blood is critical! The American Red Cross has faced a reduction of donations due to the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. One blood donation can save up to three lives. It's also important to donate if you have the COVID-19 antibodies as this convalescent plasma is being evaluated as a possible treatment for currently ill COVID-19 patients! Your donation could help save the lives of people battling this disease! Learn more and find out where to donate by visiting: https://www.redcrossblood.org/

Today we honor Dr. William E. Allen Jr., the first African American Radiologist. Among his many achievements, in 1974 Dr. Allen received the American College of Radiology’s Gold Medal, the highest honor in radiology, in recognition of a career in which he overcame prejudice to become an excellent clinical radiologist, a teacher of residents, medical students, and radiologic technologists; the founder of the radiology section of the National Medical Association. He made considerable advances in shaping radiology as a science and profession and worked tirelessly to increase access to education for other African Americans. www.RadNetImaging.com

Happy Halloween! Wishing everyone a safe and fun day!
First-degree family history of breast cancer dramatically increases your risk of cancer. Although family history can’t be changed, it's important to stay knowledgeable and updated about it.

"Women at a higher risk for breast cancer, should begin their screening mammograms at an earlier age, approximately ten years prior to the first degree relative (mother, sister, daughter) who was diagnosed pre-menopausal. In addition both genetic risk assessment and testing should be obtained." Dr. Tchaiko Parris
Learn together, fight together, win together! #RadNet #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth
3D Mammography is the state of the art mammogram technology that improves our ability to detect breast cancers. It has some distinct advantages over conventional 2D mammograms, most notably is its ability to create a 3D or volumetric image of the breast. If a 2D mammogram is like looking at the floor plan of a home, then a 3D mammogram allows you to open the doors and look inside, affording a more detailed evaluation. Dr. Jason McKellop
You're more powerful than you think! Sending encouragement to all those who need it.

Today we stand with the Metastatic Breast Cancer community. An estimated 154,000+ women are currently living with metastatic breast cancer in the United States. While this disease is terminal and cannot be cured, it is not hopeless. Because of improved treatments many women can live long, productive lives for many years with this type of cancer. There are a wide variety of treatment options and new medicines are being tested every day.
