Just me, or is anyone else compelled to screech I’m MELLLTING! a la the Wicked Witch of the West, every time they walk outdoors? But I’ve given myself permission for a little staycation poolside in Orange County. It’ll probably still be pretty hot out, but I’m counting a steady flow of toddler pool splashes to help with that! How are you staying cool?

One of my goals for this year was to branch out into doing teaching and consulting so I could be at home more with my girls. Boy, did I underestimate how much I would be at home! :-) I realized it was SO MUCH FUN! In order to continuously serve others and grow a thriving community, as well as be the best photographer/videographer I can be, I’m constantly pushing myself to try new things. The ability to capture a moment in time with the click of a camera button simply amazes me. There are many once-in-a-lifetime memories that I love to reminisce looking through old photos, like embracing my daughter moments after she was born. But there are some day-to-day moments that make my heart happy too, like my daughter’s paintings on the fridge. I need to make an effort to take pictures of it so I can cherish the memory forever. What is something that you see everyday that brings you joy?

I can’t say I love EVERYthing about my job, and if I’m being honest there are some days I wish that all the hard work, late nights, and sacrifices that come with being my own boss would disappear! But if I could pick the top 3 favorite things I love about being a photographer/videographer, I’d pick teaching, sharing creativity, and enhancing my client's confidence. What would your three things be?

I hate to admit it, but sometimes I realize me and the baby are in front of Zoom/ the computer the whole day! But you know what? I’m an artist, and I love what I do. Plus there's some sweet bonding moments too... At the end of the day, I work hard because it’s what makes me feel as if I’m truly living my purpose. What (or who) are you hustling for?

Is there anything you are a bit insecure about? If you’re anything like me, something immediately came to mind! For me, it’s that I’m a recovering perfectionist. In the past, I have struggled to be vulnerable and show myself the same grace I show others when I make mistakes, and I am working every day to turn things around in this time of constant change. Lately, I remind myself I’m human and so is making mistakes. What are you insecure about, and how do you overcome it? Re...gardless of what it is, know this friend: you are enough! #empoweredyou
