This sight specific work "The Gate" uses a technique of "paint peel" which shows the first layers set down as opposed to the traditional methods of paintings where you see the last layers applied and using the traditional door of Mewar as a material of my work. In this work I am melding the past with today, bringing together the entrance of welcome with 'modern art' to open the eyes and pave the way for a 'New' Art in India. This gate leads to new modern india Which is rich in culture and heritage at the same time very modern.
