Mistletoe against cancer. Does it work? This is the official NCI position, which acknowledges that there is scientific data that supports an anti-cancer effect. This is the patient version, but you can see the nitty-gritty science references in the PRO version link. Does it take the place of standard therapies? In my opinion, no. However, does it have a role if other therapies are no longer working? An informed choice is the answer.... There is also data that supports synergy between mistletoe extracts and standard chemo. Most of that is animal and lab data but again, there is something to the contention that it may play a role in treatment under specific circumstances. The best place for it currently is within clinical trials.

Olaparib (LYNPARZA) has certainly been a "game-changer" in helping BRCA+ patients beat ovarian cancer in the US and is now approved across the pond by the NHS. Awesome news!!

Helpful information, possibly to relieve pain if you have endometriosis or even more, because of the more ominous links that endo has to possible ovarian cancer....

We may not have good ovarian screening tests....yet....but moving closer which better tumor markers. Even the basic ones are important to help guide treatment triage.
