OPEN AUDITIONS! Calling all ACTORS 14-18 years old! (13 y.o. may be considered on case-by-case basis) The Laramie Project is a play written from the interview transcripts of the residents of Laramie, Wyoming conducted by members of the Tectonic Theater Project. It follows the murder of Matthew Shepard in 1998. A verbatim theater piece, this play challenges actors to take on multiple characters, all real people, who were at the center of one of the nation’s most heinous anti-g...ay hate crimes. Due to the content of this play, before auditioning please read our letter on our website at coastalpaf.org/auditions for more information on what will be expected from our actors through this process. We want every actor to understand that although this is acting for us, the story of which we are telling is very real and that requires great maturity and understanding. We feel our students are ready for this challenging piece that pushes not only our abilities as actors, but challenges us to think differently and spread understanding and compassion to those who take this journey with us. For this production of The Laramie Project, rehearsals and performances will be virtual, through Zoom, so anyone can audition, no matter your location. We can’t wait to get started on this powerful play and hope to see you audition! If you are interested in more information, please visit our website through our Link in Bio or message us here. We would love to answer any questions you have!

It’s SHOWTIME! Two virtual shows coming your way this Winter/Spring and we want YOU to be a part of them! For our first show, we will be putting on The Laramie Project. A mature play intended for our older performers, The Laramie Project is a documentary-styled verbatim theater piece written from interviews of the residents of Laramie, Wyoming following the murder of Matthew Shepard. Due to the content of the play, this audition-only show will be for students ages 14-18, howe...ver 13 year olds may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please visit our website for more information regarding the nature and content of this show, including a Letter from the Director. Audition information can be found through our link in bio or at coastalpaf.org/auditions. Our second show that we will be putting on is Hope: A Virtual Cabaret. This show will include numbers from popular musicals, as well as an opportunity for the kids to bring forth their OWN material. During quarantine, many artists around the world have been writing songs, their own monologues and scripts and we want to open the floor to you to bring your material to us! We want to create this show together and make this available to any young actor, dancer, or performer ages 8-18. For more information or to sign-up, please visit our website coastalpaf.org/auditions or click our link in bio. We are very excited to offer two shows to our CYT family and truly hope you are able to join us for one of these opportunities! Have questions? Message us here or through our website at any time and we would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

To watch our full video, please visit https://www.coastalpaf.org/donate now! __________ Dear Friends and Families of Coastal Performing Arts Foundation,... Back at the beginning of 2020, our Coastal Youth Theater kids were in rehearsals for 2 productions. Our Junior Company was preparing for Thoroughly Modern Millie and our Senior Company was gearing up for Footloose. Both shows were set for May productions. As you well know by now, the performing arts world as we have known and loved it is on hold indefinitely and our theater community is suffering drastic blows due to Covid-19. It has been disappointing, to say the least, to not be able to provide our theater kids with the classes, rehearsals, and shows they are used to and that they deserve. We know how heartbreaking this is for them and we have been working hard to try and find ways to keep our kids connected, engaged, and creative. This video link you are receiving is one of those efforts. Because the kids were unable to have their spring dance-a-thon, an event that always brings them so much joy and is incredibly instrumental in helping fund our productions, we decided to put together a virtual one where they could still participate in learning some choreography and getting a chance to perform it on video. We chose We Go Together from Grease because it rings hopeful that We’ll always be together and in order for us to be together again, CPAF will need your support. Our productions are our biggest money-makers and 2020 has left us without a single show on the books. Please consider donating to this virtual dance-a-thon and sharing this link far and wide so that we *can* be together again when the time is safe to do so. If you are interested in donating, please visit https://www.coastalpaf.org/donate and to watch our full video! Thank you for supporting our Coastal Youth Theater kids. We can not wait until we are able to see them back up on the stage again! #savethearts #coastalperformingartsfoundation #coastalyouththeater #danceathon *We do not own the rights to this music.
