Here is Dr. Skaf with one of our patients before his cataract surgery. Dr. Skaf is going to implant one of the first newly FDA approved Vivity lenses in San Diego. The AcrySof IQ Vivity lens enhances your vision and your depth perception. The standard cataract replacement lens, which is called a monofocal lens, allows you to see far away. The AcrySof IQ Vivity Lens allows you to see clearly at the crucial far and intermediate distances while still providing functional near vision. The best part about this lens is that it has less side effects and it can help a lot of patients who aren’t candidates for multifocal lenses.

Dr. Moss used a Toric Lens for the patient on the right to correct her astigmatism. She no longer needs glasses for distance. Both patients are thrilled with the results. They can see better and they feel safer driving at night. It is important to discuss your options with your ophthalmologist. The technology is out there and we have great surgeons who are happy to serve you.

Dr. Ayham Skaf preforming the first ever commercially available injection treatment for glaucoma. It lowers intraocular pressure for over four months without daily drops. Ideal for those who don’t tolerate drops well or those with advancing glaucoma that are trying to avoid surgery. #retinadrs #americaneyeassociates #ophthalmology #eyecare
