Please join us this Sunday, November 8, at Mt. Davidson as we pay our respects to the soldiers who have fallen defending Artsakh. We will be meeting at St. John at 1:30pm and walking to the cross. The vigil will begin at 3pm. Please do not bring any candles to the cross. Today was an incredible day. Thousands of Armenians from the Bay Area, Sacramento, Fresno, LA, and all over California came together to March against Azeri aggression across the Golden Gate Bridge. This demonstration proves that the Armenian diaspora is united in its efforts towards achieving peace in our homeland. Dear fellow Armenians, We are looking forward to seeing many of you at the Golden Gate Bridge March this Saturday at 11:30 am. We wanted to let the community know of a few reminders before the event. Our primary concern is the safety of our fellow protesters. The march will be held on the walkway, not on the actual road. We will NOT be shutting down the bridge or blocking traffic in any way. If people are hesitant to march across the bridge, but do not want to sit at home, th...ey can join us at the plaza and show a presence there while we march across the bridge. We have confirmed the attendance of California Highway Patrol and are in close communication with them. We are also in close communication with SFPD, who will be providing extra security, as they are aware of the previous hate crimes that have taken place against our community over the past few months. Although we do not want to force anyone to participate in our event, we have to show unity and demonstrate that we will not be struck with fear in light of the recent events and attacks on our people. This morning at 4am, our Armenian Community Center next to St. Gregory Armenian Apostolic Church was set ablaze. This community center, the location of our AYF agoump, is a home to many of the members of our community. We condemn these acts of arson. This community continues to stand against hate.
