Avocet Aircraft

This is one of the many composite molds manufactured for the AV24. Part AA0155101101-CM makes the aft spar in the horizontal stabilizer. Our carbon fiber molds must have the same low CTE (coefficient of thermal expansion), as the parts they produce. This is so that the molds do not expand and contract at a different rate from the parts as they are cycled in our oven. Our molds are machined multiple times to incorporate the materials required to create the accurate, stable, low CTE composite structure needed to make our design specs.

Avocet has secured a commercially-zoned 3,550 sq. ft. hangar for our builders program. Parts manufacturing begins after terra boring to run a natural gas line to our custom oven. Hangar 18C before moving equipment in:

AV24 Horizontal Stabilizer Mold This beautiful, highly accurate carbon mold is coated with Duratec, and weighs about 250 lbs. The parts made from our molds are placed in cradles machined to +/- .004.
