#ArtemisCarmel has announced the hiring of a new executive chef & a new menu! New Executive Chef Hector Berumen comes to Artemis with extensive experience as a chef at several of the best restaurants in Monterey County. Just prior to joining Artemis, Berumen worked at Will's Fargo in Carmel Valley, as well as a two-year stint as lead chef at Canterbury Woods in Pacific Grove. He was also Executive Chef at Forge in the Forest in Carmel for three years as well as Executive Che...f at Baja Cantina in Carmel Valley for six years. Berumen also has an extensive catering background. Berumen is a very well-rounded culinary professional who brings a blend of creativity, passion for food and exceptional cooking skills to his position. He also works well as a dynamic leader in high-pressure situations. Berumen's previous culinary stints include lead chef at Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach; Sous Chef under renowned Chef Todd Fisher at Hullaballo in Salinas; and Sous Chef at the acclaimed Casanova restaurant in Carmel. Artemis’ new menu focuses on its reputation as a restaurant with truly global roots, not just Mediterranean cuisine. You can start in Mexico (tacos, quesadillas), travel to Italy (linguine, ravioli, gnocchi), make a stop in America (New York steak, classic cheeseburger) and experience some culinary classics such as Caesar salad, calamari frito, Margherita pizza, grilled salmon and petit filet mignon.
