We are happy to announce a little program for our youngest riders, starting January 8th! If you know any little children (ages 2-5) who have an interest in ponies, horses and animals, they might like to join us. At A Lotte Horses we have ponies and horses, a pig, a giant rabbit, two baby tortoises, and some friendly barn cats and dogs. Follow the link to learn more. It would make a lovely Christmas present, just draw a picture of a horse, and add a few words indicating it is for an experience with ponies and other animals, coming up very soon! We will care for the animals, groom, tack and ride on a lead line. We can also email gift cards.

Afternoon rides, when the light is perfect, the winter air crisp and the sun lingers. We are back in session for all classes and lessons this week.

Thank you to all the families, friends and volunteers that have made this year possible for A Lotte Horses. It’s such a honor and a pleasure to be able provide a place for the children to come, learn, be kids and enjoy the horses and nature, especially during this year of 2020. They’re watching Lotte on a sunset training ride on Sunshine, a new rescued school horse in training. We’re growing.

Perfect fall air and afternoon light today during lesson time with six of our young independent riders. (ages 7-11)

Hands on with the Rescue Horses. We have two small classes currently learning hands on with the rescue horses - we are helping the horses know that people are cool. And it’s a gorgeous time of day at the ranch.

Two young thoroughbred rescues arrived last week (photos coming) so in our homeschool classes we talked about how jockeys ride and why such beautiful young horses need rescuing.

Our fall classes are underway! Fall break is also coming up, we have 2 spots open in the morning session and 2 in the afternoon, the kids will have three days at the ranch, Oct 26-28! Everyone rides, learns horsemanship and participates in crafts and games. Hey, come ride! We have two children's riding lesson times with spots open: Friday arriving at 11:30am (1 spot) Saturday arriving at 12pm (2-3 spots). All our riders learn to muck, tack and groom their horse, and beginners each ride their horse in groups of a maximum of 4. Do you know any kids ages 5-11 that would like to come ride? One spot has opened up in our Tuesday morning fall class, its 9am-12pm, everyone learns horsemanship and rides and we also do Waldorf inspired arts & crafts, led by a waldorf teacher.
